Review:

Let’s talk about the cover of Max and the Spice Thieves by John Peragine before we dive into the story. What an impressive cover. I’m outside of the targeted age range, since this is middle grade, but I would still pick this one up if I saw it in the bookstore.

Speaking of middle grade, I think the best stories in this genre can be read by older people as well. This story was very entertaining and I was intrigued to keep reading.

The world building is so creative. I really love being drawn into a story, and feeling part of the world. John Peragine was able to make this happen with his writing.

I think Max is an excellent main character to follow. I really think he’s relatable.

Overall, this was a fun read. I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot!
