If genetic engineering could guarantee you and your family perfect health and unparalleled beauty, would you pay top dollar for it? Would you kill for it?

Residents of the Colony would. And do.

Only the Insurgents can stop them.

Asher Solomon is a premier operative with the Insurgents. He and his team have rescued countless hostages, saving them from painful deaths in Colony labs as desirable genetic traits are stripped from their bodies.

He’s also suffered more losses than anyone should have to.

Then Asher gets intel that might give his people the upper hand. The Colony is searching for Subject A36. If the Insurgents determine the subject’s identity first, they might be able to turn the tide of the war.

Asher and his team embark on their riskiest mission ever, and the stakes have never been higher. But even if he survives the physical dangers, the devastating secrets he uncovers might destroy him.

I absolutely love Teri Polen, so when the opportunity to read and review Subject A36, I jumped at the chance. Done well, dystopian can be one of my favorite genres and this was done well.

Love the characters in this book. I felt like Teri Polen took the extra time to make sure these characters were realistic. They teach in ways normal people would. I think that’s important.

Subject A36 has twists and turns galore. The action sequences felt as if I was watching an action movie, which I was super impressed with.

I really loved this book! I can’t wait to continue on in this series..I think it’s off to a great start!!

“How many vehicles?”

His radio crackled again. “Ten trucks. And I picked up five helicopters on radar.”

Noah stared into space, his eyes unfocused. I knew the decision he warred with, and it’s something we’d planned for, a protocol Patrick had put in place but hoped would never be necessary.

He took a deep breath. “Evacuation Protocol. Send it out immediately.”

We’d drilled the Evacuation Protocol on a regular basis in the event our compound was infiltrated and we were forced to fight or withdraw. First Patrick, and then Noah, made sure we were prepared if the time ever came.

And that time was here.

My gaze shot to Brynn. Not all of us would escape this.

Some of us would die.

Teri Polen reads and watches horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. The Walking Dead, Harry Potter, and anything Marvel-related are likely to cause fangirl delirium. She lives in Bowling Green, KY with her husband, sons, and black cat. Her first novel, Sarah, a YA horror/thriller, was a horror finalist in the 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.
