Prince Carden of Tierney lost his home, family, and claim to the throne in one fell swoop when he rebelled against his father for a cause he knew was right. Instead of wallowing in despair, he embarks on a new journey, starting a new life on the Southern Isle. When he finds himself caught in a web woven by the famously ruthless fae queen, Coeur, he insults her and she vows to teach him the most difficult and heart-breaking lesson he will ever learn: that humans are incapable of love, and that hearts are beastly things.
What an interesting twist on a fairytale loosely based on Alice in Wonderland. This is my first Casey L Bond novel, and it surely wont be my last. I’m thoroughly impressed with her ability to remind me of Alice in Wonderland while creating a new story full of fantastic characters and a unique world.
The pace of the story was great, and I didn’t want to put it down. I really loved Carden and Arabella. This novel has mystery and action, with a splash of romance. My kind of story.
I highly recommend checking this one out. Fairytale retellings can be really fun if done right, and this one is done right.
