My Chronic Pain Journey | Keep Climbing the Mountain

Hi Everyone!

It’s been a while since I posted about my chronic pain. I’m pretty much healed up from my ovarian cyst surgery. That was a little crazy. We initially thought it was the size of an apple, but it ended up being the size of a grapefruit. I did lose my left ovary as well, but that isn’t a huge deal and shouldn’t mess with my ability to conceive.

My biggest issue right now is that we are calling it Fibromyalgia but my doctor isn’t 100% sure about it. He says this could just be a preliminary issue to a bigger problem. I’m doing my best not to let that scare me. On one hand, Fibro is a crappy disease, because there isn’t a ton doctors can do for me. On the other hand, it’s better than any other diagnosis that I could have gotten.

I was listening to an Evanescence (go figure) playlist the other day, and a song by Three Days Grace came on. I’m not the biggest fan of that band, but I’m obsessed with this song. It’s called The Mountain and you can listen to it if you click here. The lyrics are so on point with my life.

My goal every day is to find one positive. I can’t keep focusing on all the negatives. So, my biggest piece of advice to anyone struggling is to keep climbing the mountain!

[Intro]
Every day I’m just survivin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain

[Verse 1]
Another night I’m barely holdin’ on
One step away from being dead and gone
Am I alive to die another day?
Is this life that I’ve been livin’ all that’s meant for me?

[Chorus]
Every day I’m just survivin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain

Every time I think I’m over it
I wake up in the bottom of it all again
I’m still survivin’, keep climbin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain

[Verse 2]
The higher I go, the harder I fall
So I don’t look down, I don’t look back at all
And when I wish it all would turn to black
I try to see the light and push the darkness back
[Chorus]
Every day I’m just survivin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain
Every time I think I’m over it
I wake up in the bottom of it all again
I’m still survivin’, I keep climbin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain
[Bridge]
So if I’m not already too far gone
And if I feel a pulse then I can carry on
When I’m lost and wanna fade away
I tell myself to live, to die another day, yeah
[Chorus]
Every day I’m just survivin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain
Every time I think I’m over it
I wake up in the bottom of it all again
I’m still alive and keep climbin’
Keep climbin’ the mountain, the mountain

Let me know what you think about the song.

Lovely song… I hope you become okay fast… Don’t tell anyone.. Sometimes doctors don’t know much. Human body is much more than what they (we) know. Faith can move mountains

😘😘I know, it’s crazy how much we don’t know, huh? But luckily, I have some great doctors who want to help. Their hands are just tied at the moment. Faith is all I have at this point and I know God has a plan. ❤❤

I’m glad to hear you’re recovering from your surgery. My mother has fibromyalgia and it took ages to properly diagnose it since it looks like so many things. Sending you hugs,

I suffered from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for 8 long bedridden years. I thought I was dying. I went on a plant-based anti-inflammatory diet and it has helped wonders. I can function now. I can make appointments now and not cancel family outings. I feel alive again. There is hope for you, don’t give up. If I can help you, please contact me at cwris@yahoo.com. I’d love to be of support to you.
